I feel compelled to write this story because it was just so bizarre how it happened. I got a call from a patient that was going back to Ohio for the summer, he needed a minor adjustment to his hearing instruments before he left.

When I arrived he was sitting outside and it was a beautiful Florida day, nice breeze no humidity(if that is possible). He was at a relatives home and I didn’t want to intrude so I suggested we sit outside and work. He said ” can you do adjust my hearing instruments outside without power?” I let him know that I could run everything on batter power with no problems.

So we proceeded, I made some minor adjustments and what makes this story cool for me is what happened next. When he was sitting there he looked at me and said “wow I can hear all the birds out here”. He was so amazed,his face was priceless. I decided to let him listen to the birds with his hearing instruments off and he said he could hear them very softly in the distance. I turned the hearing instruments back on and again he was just so amazed at the difference.

It was so cool to be able to do something like this outdoors, usually I am in the office or someones home, but not outside. I am glad we decided to work outside, it made a memorable do for the both of us.
