Story number 2: Audeo YES V with standard receiver

Mrs. A.: Our previous patient originally fit in 2005 with Rexton Regatta II CIC’s. We refit her with Audeo YES V’s with standard receivers. At her evaluation her discrimination was a whopping 92%. Wow. How do you top that? I took a deep breath and went for it. She scored an amazing 100% at delivery! Very fabulous results! What a great way to start. When I went back for her one week check up, she had a great report for the week. No problem in the dining room. She went to a doctor’s appointment and heard very well. She wore them to church. She said she sat in the middle of the church and heard every word. She told me that she did not realize what she was missing until she wore her new instruments to church. Wow! That is pretty awesome. The rest of her rehab visits went really well, also. She loves the feel and the fact that they are virtually invisible. All those great feature and a cute little package too. What more could you ask for? I can’t think of anything. Can you?

Story number 1: Versata ITC/HS P VZ

Mrs. F.: Our previous patient originally fit in 2006 with Rexton Calibra 2 CIC’s. We refit her with Versata HS Power VZ. At her evaluation her discrimination was 80%. When the result is that high right off the bat,you kind of think to yourself, “great”, and then cross your fingers under the table when you give the discrimination test. At delivery, her discrimination score was a fabulous 100%. Awesome!! Since was a previous user she was place on a full wearing schedule. She came in today for her 1 week checkup. She wore them to church and she said it was perfect. The day of delivery she went out to lunch with a friend and she said that background noise was not bothersome at all. She watched a rented movie on television with her daughter. She said she usually has to have her turn it way up and she still doesn’t understand but, with her Versata’s she heard the movie very well. She also went out to a monthly meeting with a group of about 16 women. She said she had been reluctantly thinking about not going to the meeting any longer because all the noise and different conversations going on it made it impossible to hear. She went to the meeting this past week and heard great. She was so excited because she really did want to stop getting together with the group. She is so very pleased and excited about the results of her new hearing instruments. You could tell just by watching her face and listening to her voice as she talked about her week. I can’t wait until her 2 week check up. Chalk another one up to another great Phonak product.

I heard great news the other day that the Better Hearing Institute was starting a blogging section to their site. They were looking for bloggers to contribute so I decided to give it a try and enter. Now I thought I really did not stand a chance knowing that they already have great writers. To my surprise I was picked to contribute and I am so blessed to be able to be a part of their new blog.

It is such an honor to be able to write alongside of some very talented people. I will do my best to put out interesting and inspiring commentary, I have some big shoes to fill, please say a prayer for me.

Go to the site and then look for the blogging section. It will be launched Friday, June 12th to the best of my knowledge.

Happy reading, I hope you all will enjoy it.
